The subtitle "Images | Thoughts | Recipes" refers to informative text passages on food culture and lifestyle as well as recipes for cooking typical island dishes. Reduced word-image games invite you to think further. For the international readership there is a chapter with an English translation. The graphic artist Sandra Kubitza presents the imagery in a clear layout that sets its own rules and allows exceptions to them. A lovingly hand-illustrated map gives the reader orientation on the island. The hardcover book with linen binding was artfully finished by hand with white paint in screen printing. This printing technique makes each copy unique. The elegant thread stitching in the interior in black is perfectly coordinated with the concise typography. All production steps in the production, from the layout to the letterpress with a screen-printed title finish to the bookbinding work, were carried out in Germany. It almost completely dispenses with text and instead lets us dream with short statements. The typical island dishes are beautifully photographed and the recipes score points with their authenticity.
